If you have any difficulty making your payment through our main payment system, try the "Paypal and Secure Card Payments" option instead.

When you get to the Paypal payments page ignore "Login to Paypal" and look for the link that says: "Pay with credit/debit card" or "Checkout as Guest". This will enable you to pay securely with your card. If you are later asked if you want to create a Paypal account, select "Not Now". A Paypal account is NOT required.

IPAD - SLOWNESS OR INTERRUPTIONS

Slowness and disconnections on iPads are often caused by browser or device issues (lack of memory). Please try both of the following:

  1. Clear iPad browsing data: Go to "Settings", then "Safari", then "Privacy and Security", then "Clear History and Website Data" and select "Clear".
  2. If you have lots of Apps open, this can slow down the iPad. To close apps: Double-click the Home button to see open apps. Swipe up to close.

Help and Frequently Asked Questions

1. Open Safari browser and log in first, so that you are located at the No Fear Bridge members home page.

2. At the very top of the iPad/iPhone screen, tap the up arrow.

3. Then select 'Add to Home Screen.'

No Fear Bridge runs direct from a website. There is nothing to download or install.

Make sure your speakers are switched on and working with other audio sources.

No Fear Bridge uses the Acol bidding system, which is standard for the UK. This system used Weak No Trump, 4 card majors.

For Strong No Trump and 5 card majors see our new American style bidding site at www.nofearbridge.com.

No Fear Bridge uses the Acol bidding system, which is standard for the UK.

Some aspects of the Acol system have more than one reasonable interpretation. No Fear Bridge takes account of the following:

1. The current syllabus of the English Bridge Union teaching materials.

2. Recommendations from current leading bridge writers.

3. Feedback from bridge teachers.

4. Preferences of the No Fear Bridge management, especially to avoid complications for beginners and improvers.

Click a card from your hand or dummy when it's your turn to play. Click the centre box to start the next trick when it's the defender's turn to play (i.e. you lost the trick).

There is a new 'easy' and 'harder' Hand of the Day each day plus a new hand each day in the 'Advancer Zone'. From time to time we add batches of past 'Hands of the Day' to the Play Hands menu. There are currently over 2000 hands available to play any time from the Play Hands menus, plus 14 hands from 'This Weeks Hands' option.

Click the centre box to start the next trick when it's the defender's turn to play (i.e. you lost the trick).

The animation of the defenders cards relies on JavaScript (which is normally set on by default in browsers). Check your browser settings. You need to enable JavaScript again in your browser.

This can occur when you are playing the hand from the 'Play Hands' menu.

There is a number to the right of the topic description e.g. Finessing (9). The 'Next' button goes to the next hand in this topic, so if there is only one hand for the topic e.g. Beginners (1) the next button just repeats the hand as there are no more to show for this topic.

Use the 'Random' selection option to get a bigger range of hands (and without the clue of knowing what the topic is!) or click the 'Play Hands' button at the top of page again and select another topic from the list.

If you are playing one of the activities where 'Preferences' option is shown at top right, try changing 'App window size' to 'smaller'.

Alternatively it could be your browser Zoom settings is set to higher than 100%. Try Zoom Out or Reset or 100%.

This is most likely due to browser text size settings. It may be the browser text size is set to larger than 100% ('normal').

In your web browser setting, make sure 'Font Size' (text size) is set to 'Medium' or 'Normal'.

Note that if you use the browser 'Zoom' option instead of 'Text Size' option this will enlarge the size of everything on the page and not just the text size.

You can purchase a No Fear Bridge gift voucher from the member's page. You will receive an email containing the gift voucher which you can print or forward to the recipient.

If you are a member, log in and you'll find 'Gift Voucher' option in left hand menu bar.

If you're not a member just register for the free trial to get a password to log in and then you will be able to purchase the gift voucher.

Once you have previously scored a 10 out of 10 in the beginner's quiz your name will no longer appear on the beginner's quiz leaderboard. Time to move up to the main weekly quiz!

The weekly leads challenge needs to be completed at the first attempt.

If you even just open the leads quiz but don't continue and then go back to it later it doesn't record your score on the leader board.

The first time you attempt the quiz you get a message at the beginning 'Your score will be recorded on leaderboard after question 10.'

If you have previously opened the quiz the message will instead say 'Your score will be not be recorded on leaderboard as you have previously started or completed this week's challenge. First attempt was not completed.'

Next time you do the quiz, check the message at the start of the quiz. If your score still isn't recorded as expected please let us know.

Use the Get New Password option on the Log In page. This will also send you a Username reminder.

Login first. Once logged in click the 'My Account' button on the left hand menu and click 'Edit Profile'.

Send us an email with your existing user name and what you would like it changed to. Contact Us

Login at www.nofearbridge.co.uk. Once logged in (or if you are already logged in), click the 'My Account' button on the left hand menu and click the 'Change Password' link.

The quizzes run from Monday to Sunday so you will see this week's score on your progress graph next Monday.

Most of the No Fear Bridge activities will run on any device with an internet connection.

The best thing is to take the free trial and see if you are satisfied that No Fear Bridge will work on your device.

No Fear Bridge runs from a web server and therefore needs an internet connection.

No Fear Bridge is designed to run in a web browser using a desktop, laptop or tablet computer.

It requires an internet connection (it is not a downloadable 'app').

Because of the very interactive nature of No Fear Bridge it does require a GOOD broadband connection. Most home broadband connections fall into this category.

No Fear Bridge may show signs of slowness from some mobile broadband connections or areas of the UK where the broadband service is not so good.

We recommend you take the two week free trial before signing up to check that the service is satisfactory from your connection.
